Continuing from the previous article. After many twists and turns, Ms. L successfully split from her ex-boyfriend, and soon afterward met her husband.
Ms. L's husband graduated from an elite school, returned from studying abroad, worked as a senior executive, and came from a comfortable family. After marrying, their feelings lasted more than ten years before gradually fading, and later he had an affair. But he made no secret of it at all. Ms. L was devastated, and her husband bluntly filed for divorce.
The outcome of the lawsuit isn't our topic; let's focus on why her husband behaved this way. Bringing in his data:
In the data, the husband is 七殺 (Qi Sha); let's discuss 七殺.
How do we see the husband's intelligence and work ability?
- 七殺 in 巳 shares the palace with 紫微 (Zi Wei) and sees 左輔 and 右弼 (Zuo Fu, You Bi), 昌曲 (Chang Qu) and 天魁 (Tian Kui): five of the six auspicious stars. We can see the husband's education, credentials, intelligence and quickness are all first-rate.
- 七殺 in 巳, stem 己, gives 武曲 and 貪狼 (Wu Qu, Tan Lang) in 丑 the power of 化祿 ● and 化權 □. Although there is 文曲 (Wen Qu) 化忌 ×, 文曲 is an assisting star, so the 化忌 isn't very serious. Especially since 化祿 ● still concentrate in the 丑 Palace, it can be seen as the "nimble and adaptable pattern." His work ability is truly first-rate.
Why did the husband have an affair?
- The "nimble and adaptable pattern" above mainly speaks of work ability. But in fact 化忌 × still wreak havoc in the 丑 Palace, showing up especially on 天喜 (Tian Xi) in 丑. 天喜 governs marriage, so in marriage the "nimble and adaptable pattern" turns into the "政事顛倒格" (affairs-of-state upside down pattern). Flexibility at work becomes, in marriage, departure from the norm.
- The stem of 七殺's Spouse Palace is 丁, making 巨門 (Ju Men) become 化忌 ×. 巨門 sits with 太陽 (Tai Yang), and 太陽 in particular is the husband star. So in Ms. L's chart, it means her husband has secrets he doesn't want to share with her.
- As mentioned before, 天姚 (Tian Yao) governs affairs. 天姚's stem 甲 makes 太陽 become 化忌 too. 太陽 is the husband star and also a romance star; damaged by 天姚, the "mistress star," it brings out negative romantic traits. One careless step, and a hidden romance develops.
Conclusion
Our school has three precepts: first, don't discuss life and death; second, don't discuss whether a baby will be a boy or a girl; third, don't advise people to divorce. But Ms. L had already started divorce proceedings before coming for a reading, so the rule didn't apply.
Ms. L is beautiful, and even while married she had no shortage of male admirers. But she kept to her vows and never stepped over the line once. So her husband's affair hit her very hard.
I think Zi Wei Dou Shu is for predicting the future, but part of it is also to teach us, when facing hardship, how to keep fighting with fate.
